Designer Duo Finishing

Is it me or did this quilt along seem to fly by? The variety of fabric choices and the speed at which participants have sewn is impressive! Checking the Facebook group to see what's going on with everyone has become the favorite part of my day. Also, each day new quilters are joining the Facebook group, so there will be lots more fun sewing going on as they make their versions of the Designer Duo 2018: Kaleidoscope...Sarahs quilt simple border

Block Seven--the magical workhorse of our Designer Duo Kaliedoscope quilt. I doesn't really look like much, but when you alternate it with the other blocks, circles appear. Can you see them? Mind you, there is NO curved piecing in this quilt. The real key is this unit here. Whether you color the triangle or the spikes on either side of it, it will create the illusion of curves. Buffington Walk-Help Me Decide & Giveaway

In my last post I introduced you to On Plumberry Lane , my newest fabric collection with Marcus Fabrics that will start shipping to shops sometime in January of 2016. Also, I shared some photos of Lovely Ladies , a quilt I am making with the pinks and greys from the collection. Well, Lovely Ladies is almost done--it just needs an inner border, an outer border, quilting, a binding--okay, I suppose it is not really...On Plumberry Lane Swatch Card

What's on My Design Wall?

First up is a remake of our pattern called Kris Cross . This is a great pattern for a collection of fat quarters. The pattern comes with instructions for quilts in three different sizes. The finished block size is 9". Cindy DeUnger did the sewing for me. Didn't she do a great job? I sent her 15 fat quarters in an assortment of red, green, cream, and beige fabrics. Right now, the quilt has moved...kriss cross red and green
