What a thrill it was to find out I had won the Best Machine Workmanship Award in the Mixed Technique category of the 2007 Hoffman Challenge. My quilt, Carnivale (40 X40) was made with the Hoffman Challege fabric, or course, and numerous other fabrics, some of them hand dyed, from my burgeoning stash. I added some special touches including piping around the curved blocks and along the quilt edges,applique, button embellishments, and elaborate quilting in a variety of gorgeous threads. Carnivale now joins the Hoffman exhibit and will tour the country for the next year. Perhaps some of you will see it at a quilt show in your area! |
